Who We Are
This Privacy Policy applies to BtcReels.com (hereinafter referred to as “BtcReels”, “we”, “us”, “our”) — an independent Bitcoin casino review and information website operated from Canada.
BtcReels is not a casino, gambling operator, or financial institution. We are an online media publication that offers reviews, rankings, and guides about cryptocurrency gambling. We operate on an affiliate basis – if a reader opens an account at a casino after clicking a link on our site, we may earn a commission. See our Affiliate Disclosure for full details.
Data Controller: Liam Tremblay, BtcReels.com, Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
Information We Collect
We gather two types of information: information you choose to give us, and information we are able to gather from your visit to the site.
Information you provide:
- Contact form submissions – your name, email address, and the message content you submit via our contact form
- Email correspondence – if you email us directly at liam@btcreels.com, we retain that correspondence
Information collected automatically:
- Log data – IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring URL, pages visited, and timestamps
- Analytics data – pages viewed, time on site, click patterns, and device/screen information via analytics software
- Cookie data – see the Cookies section below for full details
- Affiliate click data – when you click an affiliate link, your click is tracked through our redirect system (e.g., btcreels.com/go/[casino]/) to record referral activity
We do not collect: credit or debit card details, cryptocurrency wallet addresses, government ID, date of birth, or any sensitive personal data. BtcReels is not a casino or any other type of online business that requires registration with sensitive financial information.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes, relying on the grounds listed in PIPEDA as a lawful basis for each:
- Responding to contact form enquiries – to answer your questions or process correction requests (legitimate interest / consent)
- Site analytics and improvement – to understand how visitors use the site, which content is most useful, and how to improve user experience (legitimate interest)
- Affiliate tracking – to attribute casino referrals to BtcReels so we receive appropriate commission credit (legitimate interest / contract)
- Security and fraud prevention – to detect and prevent abuse, spam, or malicious activity (legitimate interest)
- Legal compliance – to comply with applicable Canadian laws, including CASL and PIPEDA (legal obligation)
We do not sell or share your personal data. We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling. We do not send marketing emails unless you have explicitly opted in to receive them.
Cookies & Tracking Technologies
BtcReels uses cookies and similar technologies. A cookie is a small text file stored on your device when you visit a website. We use the following categories of cookies:
- Strictly necessary cookies – essential for the website to function. These cannot be disabled. They include session management and security cookies.
- Analytics cookies – help us understand how visitors interact with the site (e.g., pages visited, traffic sources). These are set by analytics software and require your consent.
- Affiliate tracking cookies – set when you click a casino link to track the referral. These are essential to our commercial operation and disclosed in our Affiliate Disclosure.
- Preference cookies – remember settings or choices you make on the site (e.g., language preference).
For more information on the specific cookies used and how long they are valid, see our Cookie Policy. You may block non-essential cookies through your browser settings at any time.
Third-Party Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We may share limited data with the following categories of service providers where necessary to operate the site:
- Web hosting provider – our hosting infrastructure processes server logs containing IP addresses as part of normal website operation
- Analytics provider – anonymized or pseudonymized usage data is processed by our analytics software. We configure analytics to respect privacy (e.g., IP anonymization enabled)
- Affiliate networks and casino operators – when you click through to a casino, that casino's tracking systems receive data about the referral (your click and any subsequent registration). Once you reach the casino's website, that casino's privacy policy governs your data
- Email service – contact form submissions are routed through our email infrastructure
We enter into specific contractual arrangements with any third-party processor that processes personal data on our behalf, requiring them to process that information in accordance with our instructions and applicable privacy law. We do not transfer personal data outside Canada unless the receiving country has been designated as adequate or appropriate contractual safeguards are in place.
Important: By clicking any casino link on BtcReels, you will be redirected to that casino’s website and become subject to their privacy policy. BtcReels has no control over how casino operators handle your data. We strongly recommend reading each casino’s privacy policy before creating an account.
Data Retention
We will not retain personal data for longer than is necessary for its purpose of collection, or to the extent required by law.
- Contact form data – retained for up to 24 months from the date of submission, then deleted
- Server log data – retained for up to 12 months for security and diagnostic purposes
- Analytics data – retained in aggregated, anonymized form indefinitely; raw session data retained per the analytics provider's data retention settings (typically 14–26 months)
